A Little Different

Success looks a little different when

You discover time is yours to curate

A doctor in debt equals a prostitute in Prada

How seductively you lay in the bed you made

Equality looks a little different when

Our soul story and society are contradicted

Poverty and power exist on uneven landscapes

How regal you stand on the ground you’re gifted

Love looks a little different when

You learn to fill yourself first

Find the half to your whole within

How generously you give without thirst

Independence looks a little different when

Reclusion leaves you all alone

Sharing humanity is not dependence

How rich is your freedom in the mirror of another soul

Death looks a little different when

You embrace oneness in the cycle

A body is a temporary temple for our souls

How boldly you make each moment worth while.
