A sweet treat for my 26th year

I make my banana split

and I lie in it too.

Decadence is a matter of sticky perception

I indulge in multiple points of view.

 

I make love to the moments

That build milestones

Shaping memories into sweet things that were

Once bitter on my tongue

 

I make the best of bruises

Tears and blood flowed.

they turn into scars that add color and texture

My vanilla skin becomes rocky road

 

I make a mess of moderation

And eat every last bite

I put a cherry on top of each circumstance

I savor the sweetness in this treat of life
