Waiting on Room Service

When I wait for room service

I do not wait for you

My heart has room for only one ache

And I’d prefer it to be food.

 

I will not linger by the phone

For the only sustenance I crave

Is to be filled to the brim

But you never had me that way

 

So unless you’ve suddenly become

The lover you promised to be

I will not answer the door to you

I’ll only come for the cart of treats.
