Eruption

Fragile like a bomb,

delicate like flower

We are fated by heat

of a flame or finger

Blow up or bloom;

our time is precious together

How long do we have

entwined in each other?

When night falls

and I fall harder

Will you stand with me

in the ecstasy?

I am clinging

to you desperately

Until you must

let go breathlessly

A volcano of emotions

erupt carelessly

I see fear reflected

in eyes of intensity

I feel your heart

turn to stone

Like the cool air solidifies

the lava that flows

After an eruption,

all is unknown

Can our hardened hearts

transform into healing gemstone

Obsidian healing our pain

And reflecting our shadows?

Will your shadow follow me

I really do hope so

Every lesson we learned

Plants seeds to sow

In another season

A perennial will grow

In someone else’s arms

I’ll know

It wasn’t my heart that broke

You shattered my own illusion

It was a death of ego

You were a northern star

Pointing me home

Into myself - Into the love

Into my own heart and soul

xoxo, Leola
